Elizabeth Abbott: Youth with a Mission (Training Base: Medicine Hat, Alberta)
Elizabeth Abbott is stationed in Medicine Hat, Alberta at the Biblical Core Course School, assisting students in their studies and providing teaching as required. She also provides administration assistance and duties for the whole school. In December of 2007, Elizabeth also had the opportunity to co-lead a 2-month outreach to China. Email Elizabeth.

Brenda Jise: Youth with a Mission (Training Base: Perth, Australia)
Brenda and her husband Sabo are stationed in Perth, Australia at the Youth Ministry Training School. The school’s purpose is to equip leaders for youth ministry, finding out what God’s heart is for this generation and doing something about it! Brenda’s role is to help the school leader by taking care of hospitality for guest speakers, marking journals, book reports & projects, student care, and general school administration. From January to March 2008, Brenda will be on outreach in Jakarta, Indonesia. Email Brenda.

Ray Harms-Wiebe: MBMS International
After almost two decades of church planting and leadership training ministries in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ray is now serving as the Global Program Team Leader for MBMS International. In this role, he oversees the mission’s church planting teams, holistic initiatives, relationships with international partners and the training of long term workers. They are stationed in Abbotsford, BC. Email Ray.

Steve & Nataljia Janz, Camp in a Box, Latvia
Stephen and Natalija Janz have been serving churches in Latvia for 10 years (the last 8 years under Greater Europe Mission). Their focus has been to help Christians use camp ministry as a tool for evangelism and building relationship that share Christ. They have helped in the start up and development of 2 year round camp facilities and have been involved in training and program development for camp workers and leaders.

Since 2005 they have been directing the development of a mobile tent camp project called Camp in a Box (internationally)www.campinabox.ca. The Latvian organization (Nometne uz Riteniem) was established in 2005, with the first camps taking place in 2008. They believe that God has given the vision to see this project grow into a valuable tool that can be used in many different countries. Currently there are 3 international organizations contributing to the development of the project. Greater Europe Mission (Canada/USA), Samaritan’s Purse (Canada), and Ora (Holland).
Stephen and Natalija have 2 boys, Samuel and Simon. The boys are learning to communicate in English, Russian and Latvian. Together they are all learning what it means to live each day for Christ. The Janz’s live about 40kms from the Latvian capital of Riga. Email Steve and Natalija.

When praying for our missionaries, please pray for:

  • Unity amongst the staff and team members
  • Physical health and Spiritual/Physical protection
  • Effective opportunities for ministry and effectiveness in those opportunities
  • Financial Provision, including for the “extras” that occur
  • Continued filling of the Spirit so that fruit will be evident and joy, peace etc are realized in the task before them.
