middle school youth

Middle school (grade 6-8) is an important time of development and spiritual formation. Over the years, our focus at connecting with this age-group has had many different faces.

We’ve had a weeknight get together with games and teaching. When it seemed our kids were busy with other commitments we prayerfully moved our focus to a Sunday morning class in The Box. This is a time of fun and connection under the leadership of several adults and senior high youth with a passion to teach and pass on their own learning.

A lot of our demographic are families who share the vision that church should be an experience shared together. It helps that all our pastors are great communicators – dropping cookies on every shelf, so to speak. We try to encourage this by providing a “Following the Sermon” sheet that can be completed for candy (collected from Pastor Jonathan after the service).  Middle school youth are welcome to stay in the service or can join us in The Box during the sermon time.
