Welcome to a new year of Kids Church. We would like this to be a fun and exciting season of learning for each of your children. We value the opportunity to be able to speak into their lives in a meaningful way as we open the Scriptures and look at the Parables of Jesus.

We have six very capable volunteer teachers and at least two volunteer assistants per teacher. We are so thankful for all of them. They will each teach on a rotation of one month on and two months off, throughout the year. That way they can also take in the messages in the main service and are fuelled up, rested, and ready to go again when it’s their turn.

Our theme verse for the year is “Love your Neighbor as yourself”. We want the children to understand what that means, and what it would look like, to them, their family, their church and their city.

This year we would like to talk about nine of Jesus’ parables and emphasize “Character Qualities” we see in those parables so that they become more alive to the children, and so that they can learn to be a reflection of Jesus in their everyday lives. We will study two qualities a month.

Our aim is that this would be an interactive experience, and so we will be sending home copies of teachers’ and parents’ notes, so that you are aware of what character qualities the teachers are teaching, and so that you can encourage your children in these areas. Our hope is to encourage you as parents and to reinforce your teaching, not to replace it.
